Research has shown that cows walk faster and slip less on rubber floors. 70% of cows that walk on concrete floors slip at least once, but only 20% clip while walking on AGRICOW rubber mats. AGRICOW rubber mats have passed the Fokus Test 08-376 friction and slippery resistance trials, and were deemed one of the best examples in their class. For two of the products, the following tests were carried out:

Friction resistance;
Slipping resistance.

The AGRICOW rubber mats have passed friction tests using abrasive paper under the pressure of 500 N with a total area of 61,5 cm². Abrasion depth after 20 000 revolutions in both directions was 3,2 mm or 17% of the total thickness. A total of 8,7 g of material was removed. The result: good friction resistance.

With the help of special instruments, slipping resistance was simulated in dry and wet conditions. The speed was 20 mm/s. The trial showed a good resistance to slipping on both dry rubber and a wet surface. The friction coefficient exceeded the minimal threshold of 0,45 μ. The result: good slipping resistance.

Not all mats are the same. There are cheaper variants, but low costs lead to a shorter life span. They are usually made of rubber of foam rubber, they crumble, are easily compressed, damaged and lose their softness. The problem of these mats is that they are made from not sufficiently vulcanized rubber. The manufacturing process is characterized by low quality and lower flexibility.
